The Foundation welcomes inquiries from private landowners about steps which they can take to set standards for sound land use and to protect the integrity of their lands for future generations. The Bras d'Or Preservation Foundation, which sponsored the Bras d'Or Lakes and Watershed Interpretive Centre, assists private landowners and communities to meet the threats to the well being of the Lakes. A registered charitable organization established under the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia, it was the first conservation organization designated under the 1992 Conservation Easements Act of the Province. Its support for the Interpretive Centre is part of its mission to foster public appreciation of the unique qualities of the Lakes and its watershed, and the need to conserve them.
